The Happy Baby Haven is a stretchy structured hybrid carrier that's wonderful for newborns. Most people find it to be less supportive and move to other carriers when baby is about 15-18 lbs. There is no waistband, which puts more weight on the shoulders, but it does have an X back which distributes the weight across the back well.
